I was always a mover, just a mover who still hadn’t found the movement style I was searching for. The curiosity that turned me onto tennis, dance, skiing, and even working at the CIA, are the same things that drew me to circus, and it has kept me in this field for over a decade.

In 2016, I left a successful career as an intelligence analyst to become an online coach and mentor for aerialists, pole dancers, and other artist-athletes just like you. Today I am a premier skill acquisition specialist for circus artists and pole dancers, from Cirque du Soleil professionals trying to stay healthy on tour to committed enthusiasts trying to fit in training between careers and kids. My coaching philosophy is rooted in the latest multidisciplinary research and looks at you as a whole-ass human with unique mindset, technical, strength, mobility, and creativity challenges.

  • Lover of street jazz, alum of the Galen Hooks Method and Jacob Jonas the Company Digital Intensive, and former coach to competition dancers.
  • Shares a domicile with a Scottish fold, a Scottish straight, a British shorthair, an Egyptian mau, and a rescue named Ossie Davis.
  • Lives in the Willamette Valley in Oregon and loves pinot noir.

I was raised on the traditional, unceded, and stolen lands of the Choctaw people past, present and future. The land already had a name, Bulbancha, meaning “the place of many tongues” (colonized as New Orleans, LA) and was a space of exchange for many Indigenous people, including Atakapa, Caddo, Choctaw, Houma, Natchez, and Tunica nations.
I am a descendent of slaveholders as well as Mandé peoples. The wealth of my family, New Orleans, the South, and the United States as a whole was created on the backs of millions stolen from their home and forced to work without choice, pay, or freedom.
I live and work on the traditional homelands of the Marys River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855, Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians.
I am working to surrender participation in “spheres of coercive hierarchical domination” (H/T Bell Hooks) and “co-create a world where the politics of domination are no longer normal or possible.” (H/T Kelly Diels)
