Circus Mobility owner Jessica John coach aerialists to peak performance. Jessica has a remarkably rich movement background as a circus artist, dancer, and competitive athlete. With over 20 years of experience of working in a wide range of environments with circus artists, athletes, and organizations, Jessica is a premier human performance and leadership training coach. With her extensive experience working with international artists, aspiring professionals, and young dancers and athletes, Jessica offers a unique opportunity to learn what it takes to reach high performance goals.
Jessica’s peak performance coaching framework is evidence-based and multidisciplinary, addressing technical, strength, mobility, nutrition, mindset, and creative challenges. Jessica uses sport and exercise psychology theoretical frameworks to design performance programs that help her clients achieve their goals through habit-based behavior change interventions. Jessica’s practice is applied and practical, aimed at helping driven professionals and aspiring professionals reach their highest potential.
Before starting to coach, Jessica worked as a leadership analyst with the CIA for more than ten years, where she developed training programs in her field. Highly trained and qualified in numerous fields related to human performance, her background in assessing world leaders from a distance contributes to her innovation in working with circus artists from afar. Jessica also holds a law degree from Boston University and a master’s degree in political management from George Washington University in Washington, DC.
Jessica uses her decade of experience as a circus artist and her training as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and on the Functional Movement Screen to assess clients strengths and weaknesses and devise progressive training programs using strength and mobility training, the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Method, Progressing Ballet Technique, Integrated Kinetic Neurology strategies, and Precision Nutrition programs.
Jessica is also the founder and director of Alter Circus, a contemporary circus, dance, and performance company.
Previous clients include Cirque du Soleil artists and have been accepted into camps like Circus Smirkus, professional programs at Ecole Nationale de Cirque, New England Center for Circus Arts, and San Diego Circus Center, and competitions and festivals like Cirque du Demain, Circus Stars USA, and the Aerial Acrobatic Arts Festival.
