Circus Mobility’s owner, Jessica John, offers online mobility classes and one-on-one mobility and technical aerial coaching for experienced aerialists with access to safe rigging. In light of the current pandemic, Jessica is offering three weekly mobility classes and three weekly aerial technique classes, as well as monthly pop-up workshops for aerial silks, rope, and dance trapeze.
All classes are currently pay-what-you-can with $15 (USD) per hour per person suggested (except for apparatus-based classes, which are a flat $30 per person). Just can send payment via Venmo (@Jessica-John-4), PayPal friends/fam (email@example.com), CashApp ($jessicajohncircus), or Zelle (firstname.lastname@example.org). Please include the class day/time & your email in the payment notes to receive the class waiver & Zoom link. You can also email email@example.com.
Deep flexibility classes, such as Splitschurch and Back Stuff, begin with by calming the nervous system through myofascial and nerve glide techniques. After activating the muscles needed to support your joints at end-range, we employ them in foundational flexibility postures as well as in Instagram-worthy movements.
Mobility & stability classes, such as Holy Shoulders, focus on strengthening and stabilizing your joints at end range to prepare them for the demands of circus work. They include myofacial techniques and a Gyrokinesis warm up.
In Sunday School, we devote an hour to digging deep into your aerial foundations, shoring up engagements, and finessing pathways on your apparatus. You’ll get a workout, but you’ll also be gaining a better understanding of skills and a roadmap for achieving the next progression.
Pop-Up Workshops are reserved for advanced practitioners and professionals with a robust weekly practice and access to safe rigging. This weather-willing class focuses on technique that can be done with 12-15 feet of height. Please arrive to class warm and ready to move on the apparatus. Classes may be recorded and purchased on request.
Online Private Lessons
Can’t make online class times or perhaps you are looking for more individual attention? Jessica offers online one-on-ones in mobility, strength training, and aerial technique. In order to work on aerial technique, you must have access to safe aerial rigging and mats, which must be verified by Jessica. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss availability and package discounts.
Online Tutorials on Patreon
Jessica provides in-depth discussion of aerial technique on horizontal (trapeze, lyra) and vertical (silks, rope) apparatuses and of requisite mobility for aerialists on her Patreon page. She dissects fundamental aerial technique for her Patreons in the amount of detail typically only seen in focused workshops or during multiple private lessons.
